(EuromanDriver.com Editor) The banning of diesel cars in European cities, included the United Kingdom is a step closer to reality according to automotive press media. There has been talk about this for a while already and it seems to me that not everyone has taken this seriously, and that sales of diesel vehicles are still very high in Europe/UK. But the plans of the EU and UK to actually ban diesel cars in the cities will comes as a shock for mostly the costumers, because I believe that most European car manufactures already know what is boiling and are ready for a plan. Those car manufatures who base their best models on diesel engines willl have a big problem. The future is petrol, hybrid and partly electric cars, there is no way to avoid it. Look at Audi, Skoda, Mercedes etc. who is about to maje huge investments in non diesel cars and soon many car manufatures will release their visions of hybrid electric cars with actually pretty impressive strong engines and long mileage. The car future is pretty interresting if you don't like diesel cars too much! Some cities across Europe has already temporary banned diesel cars and this is just a vision of the future as well. Here is a few articles that recently has been posted about this: Please bookmark this site for more car news and car releases, test driving etc. Articles: Crippling tolls, massive fines for emissions cheats, and outright bans will help improve air quality. European effort to get diesel cars off city streets in order clean up urban air continues apace. While diesel cars aren’t particularly prevalent in the U.S., they’re prized for their fuel efficiency in Europe, where pump prices are far higher. But even though they sip fuel, they also produce far larger quantities of soot and nitrogen oxides compared to gasoline-powered engines. In fact, they’re a major contributor to the declining air quality around the globe that kills over three million people each year. Europe is taking note. Ever since 2015, when Volkswagen’s “clean diesel” automobiles were found to be nothing of the sort, European officials have taken a strong stance against cars that use the fuel. The latest move came today, as the European parliament voted to introduce new regulations that will allow it to fine car manufacturers more than $30,000 per vehicle if they’re found to have been cheating on emissions tests. London’s mayor, More Diesel vehicles will disappear sooner than expected, says EU industry chief. Diesel vehicles will disappear from roads much faster than expected, according to the European Union’s industry commissioner. Elżbieta Bieńkowska spoke after the European parliament backed tougher rules to prevent manufacturers selling cars that produce far more toxic pollution when driven than in official tests. "The new measures will eventually take diesel cars off the roads, Bienkowska said: “Diesel will not disappear from one day to another. But I am quite sure they will disappear much faster than we can imagine.” The mayors of Paris, Madrid and Athens have already signalled a future ban on diesel vehicles."
